I have just about every KA book on my TBR/Kindle/iPad just waiting for the day that I canset aside enough time to binge read them all and forget that life exists outside whatever world she has created. In a way, it is like breaking the bathroom seal, knowing that once I do that I will be constantly needing to go again. Her books are like breaking that seal and that is most definitely the case with this series. It happened with the Fantasy series, the Rock chick series, and now it is starting with this one. God help me when I get to all of the other series and books just waiting to be opened like they are Christmas presents.I wasn't prepared, even if I should have been, for this series. The characters, the world-building, the insane amount of detail and depth to not only the story but evolving of the characters, and the connection between everyone. There were mystery and suspense, and even craziness that felt so real and disturbing that it felt like I was watching a Friday night episode of 20/20. The slow build and anticipation in the evolving relationship of Feb and Colt were titillating and the steam, when they did connect, was FIRE. Even though I knew that these two would work it out (because It is romance DUH) it still was a surprise watching just HOW they worked it out and the reasons why they were on the journey that they were on. I felt the emotions and I felt their love. Just the perfect amount of angst, the perfect amount of j/p in Colt, and Just the perfect amount of feisty in February. Basically, another perfect KA book which isn't a surprise because KA is KA for a reason. She is simply the best. For You by Kristen Ashley is a contemporary, romantic suspense, action filled, sweet read with heartfelt moments and second chances. This is a slow read. The book is long, quite long as most Kristen Ashley books are, however it did tend to drag after the 50% mark.Alexander Colton and February Owens were meant to be together. It says that in the blurb and once you read the book, you’ll see why. Feb and Colt met when Feb was 3 and Colt was 5, seeing as how Colt is best friends with Morrie, Feb’s older brother. The three of them were as thick as thieves along with Feb and Morrie’s parents Jackie and Jack treating Colt like their own son. For all intents and purposes, Colt was a part of Jack and Jackie’s family since his own parents were less than stellar. His alcoholic father was/is a dirt bag who beat Colt and more. Colt’s upbringing was full of abuse however he always had the loving home of Feb, Morrie, Jack, and Jackie.Feb and Colt were always in love and officially dated in high school and after. Something happened, and Feb broke up with Colt. No one knew why. Everyone, including Feb’s close friends and the whole town was surprised seeing as how it’s clear as day to anyone that Feb and Colt are soulmates.The story starts and stays with a level of mystery until we finally find out who the killer is and what the motives are. See, there is a killer on the loose. Slowly, throughout the book, we discover how and why there is a serial killer in town and seems to be targeting Feb.Through the detective work, Colt discovers there is so much more to this case than meets the eye. As the bodies pile up, Colt and Feb grow closer. To the reader, it seems as though they never should have broken up since they are obviously in love. They’ve both grown significantly. You will read and wanting to know SO bad. What you won’t expect is the trickle effect it caused rippling into a small town.What I loved was of course, is Kristen Ashley’s unique writing style. She sure did bring out the value of living in small town Indiana. KA brought us into a place where town folk take care of town folk. And that’s the type of place I want to go when reading a small-town KA book. The and the age of the characters made me smile. Colt is 44 and Feb is 42. They have each since been and ended long term since they broke up and Feb left town not too long after. They’ve not been together for a VERY long time.Now Feb is in danger and Colt is right there to help her. I loved that Colt wasn’t this alpha male and actually listened to Feb, He respected her and valued her opinion. What she said went a lot of the time and that was SO refreshing to read in a KA novel. The ones I have read thus far have been intensely dominant alpha male. That’s great in bed, but outside of it we all want a man to listen to us. Colt was that man for Feb.I want a man to feel the way about me, to look at me and all my little nuances the way Colt looked at Feb. Swoon. From the way he memorized her mannerisms and knew her quirks. Man, I just love to see that in a relationship. The way Colt feels about Feb is something else. KA really brought that out in a brilliant way with her writing.I swooned at how even when they weren’t together in the beginning you could feel the love and respect Colt had for Feb. You could see that Feb is immensely heartbroken without him and we, the reader and dying to know what made them break up if they are so perfect together. The whole town is. We find out that and much more in this intense read full of twists and turns.I do feel that the book dragged after we knew who the killer was, and Feb and Colt were getting back to a good place. Usually, Kristen Ashley books are long, but they don’t FEEL as long as this one did. I’ve never spent 4 days reading a book and I know it’s because I was bored at times and took some breaks to daydream. That doesn’t happen when I’m enthralled in a read hence the 4-star rating.I am though, glad I read this. It was BEAUTIFUL, absolutely heart wrenching and beautiful! It sent such a good message that it doesn’t matter how long you wait in life to have what you want, all that matters is that when you get what you want, you hold onto it. Colt and Feb both knew they made mistakes when they were young and shouldn’t have waited. Because of that and their now maturity, we see the difference in how adults make decisions. I love older than 35 characters.Colt and Feb spent so much time apart it was bittersweet but had such a good HEA I loved it.
